Lady Irissa's Friends
Those who hold a special place
Friends are those people who turn day to day existence
into a celebration of life. I have many 'acquaintances',
people that I enjoy talking to, both online and in "real
life", but those who I call friend are actually closer
to family.
They are the bright burning flame that beckons to us all
when life seems too dark to move another step. They make
up the circle of security and comfort and we all cling
to and in fact need to survive our daily travels and trials.
Some of the friends listed here have links to web pages,
and some are known by their online nicknames, but each
holds a very special place in my heart, and to them, I
say "thank you for being my friend."
Heronwing
A lovely lady who not only is my "boss" in the
Sisters of the Golden Moon, but a friend. She has been
there when I have most needed support, a shoulder to cry
on, or someone to share a laugh with. Love you sis!
Tazmarian
Not to be confused with "Taz", the Tazmanian Devil. Another
smart alleck scamp who has been a friend to me for quite
a while. A good father, a good husband, and a good man.
Quite a talent with the html gift as well!
Lord
Jereth
The "Master of Mayhem" has arrived! He holds the seniority
of this list. We've been friends since High School, and
through squabbles, we've still managed to "hook up" and
stay in touch. The last time I lost track of him, he moved
to Germany! We still fall victim to many "Blasts to the
Past", and often enough what he doesn't remember I do,
and vice verse.
Daver
My "big brother", spiritual guide, counselor, and when
he least expects it, teacher. He was "unofficially adopted"
into our family when I was ten, and he's been one of the
greatest big brothers a little sister could have.
RickD
I know if I didn't put him up relatively high on the list
I'd never hear the end of it, so here you go! I met him
on IRC six years ago, and we've been raising hell and
having fun ever since. Ok, it sounded good. We've both
been through our rough spots, and through it all we've
been there for one another.
Nancie
Also known as "SuperMom"! I met her on the Tad Williams
email list, affectionately known as "TadHenge". We started
a few story type posts and starting chatting as we went,
and a friendship sparked as a result. She has two beautiful
girls, and one of the most beautiful homes I've seen.
(No small feat to keep it beautiful when you've two young
girls afoot)
StormDancr
and cajunrose
These two have been close to my heart for three years
now, since I first moved to Washington. We've never met
face to face but I can't think of two more loyal and giving
people.
Shadow Wolf
I would be completely remiss if I didn't have a space
on my friends and familiy page if Shadow weren't included.
He's one of the quiet steady people that if you are truly
fortunate, count you as their friend, and stand by you
100%. I'm not sure how to best describe our friendship,
so I'll leave it at that.
Jon (JWad)
My friend and personal mechanic. *Grin* Another "Henger",
he visited us on his way back from a cross-country trek
to meet a few other Lysters on the East Coast, and swung
by to say hi to us! He's made many visits since, and we
always look forward to his company.
MerrisHawk
My "heart sister". Envision attitude on feet with long
hair, and you've got Julie. One of the first people I
met in Washington, and someone who's been down a similar
path as I. Also a fellow student of the Wiccan arts and
the Martial Arts. A great 'sounding board' for personal
problems and story ideas. (Oh, did I mention we both like
to write short stories that turn into novels?)
Orroro
The only chocolate dragon I've ever met that doesn't melt
in sunshine. Then again, the only chocolate dragon I've
ever met, period. You guessed it, another Henger, who
after a first meeting, got to be a little more. We've
enjoyed many a conversation via email, or via chat, and
I've got a lot of respect for this lady.
Soul Reaver
Vinnie, Vincent Tepesh. Pick a greusome vampire type character,
and you've got Vinnie me boy. We started role playing
on an email list based on the Anita Blake novels, and,
well, they say great minds think alike. I guess twisted
minds do the same. *Stealing the penguin and running for
cover*
LordStyle
For being a friend, a confidant, and someone who helped
keep my sanity during the rougher spots, LordStyle most
definitely deserves a place on this page, as he has in
my heart. A playful, gentle spirit and a big heart are
his finest qualities.
WarHawk
Last but certainly not least. And you may ask, "What is
your husband doing on a friend's page? The answer's pretty
simple really. Hawk is not just my mate, he is my companion,
and my best friend. I am lucky enough to enjoy a marriage
where we not only are lovers, we are friends. We crossed
paths at a time when we both needed healing, and someone
to share the healing with. Nearly two years later, we're
still moving ahead, and making goals that I never dreamed
I'd reach alone. Thank you, my love. With all my heart..
Well there you have it. I consider myself blessed to have
each of these people as my friends, and I hope that I
can be as good a friend to them as they have been to me.
