Merry Meet, and Bright Blessings

I touched lightly on my faith and my beliefs in earlier pages, which may, if you do not follow the path of Wicca, have left you a bit confused, or curious.

Let me begin by telling you how I see myself. Yes, I am a Witch. Not the Witch Hazel type from the Looney Toons era, and not someone who sacrifices young children while her black cat curls around her ankles.

I practice my faith for the benefit and good of others, to better my life and those around me. I am bound by laws and commandments, much as those who follow a Christian or Catholic belief. I do not judge others or make fun because they do not practice my beliefs.

My first experience with Wicca was through a roomate who had been a practitioner of Wicca for several years. His first advice to me when I showed an interest was one simple word. "Read." I have found that to be very good advice, and have been reading ever since, and putting to use what feels right and makes sense to me.

There are many good books on Wicca, and they can be found in most bookstores. A note to the 'wannabe' who is looking for a quick spell to make things go just as you want them.. don't waste your time. Despite the stigma placed on us by Hollywood and years of ignorance, it is simply not the way of the Wiccan.
